Default brake controller

I just bought the huskey quest brake controller model 31899
My 2004 ram 1500 had the blue plug under the dash so just plug and play. Plugged the trailer in and controller saw trailer so I thought I would try the slide to see if brakes worked and nothing. I looked at the controller and the litlle red dot for a light is not there anymore. I checked fuses and there good. Trailer lights work fine.

Any help would be great thenks.

Is the brake controller set up to apply enough voltage when you swing the lever over? There should be an adjustment to up the voltage so it applies more pressure to the trailer brakes.
If the settings are maxed out with voltage and you still have no trailer brakes, I'd check the trailer on another vehicle with a known working controller to make sure the trailer isnt the problem. OR you can check the output on your 7-pin to see if there is voltage when lever is swung over.
You did plug the trailer into your 7-pin socket right? Cuz there is no brake wire in the 4pin plug....

Yeah if the controller has enough voltage coming out, check the trailer. I had one that the truck worked fine but the trailer still didn't work. It turned out that one of the grounds wasn't connected on the axle. I hooked it up and it worked after that.

When I first plugged into the trailer the red light came on saying that it see's the trailer but I hit the brakes and now it dosent sense the trailer. So i guess I will check the grounds and hope that solves my problem.

Thanks for the help guys.

Well I dressed warm and went out to look at trailer. I found a loose ground on trailer which was the ground for the brakes. Now everything works great.

Thanks for all the help.
