2006 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi
Hi I have a 2006 ram 1500 with a 5.7 Hemi. My check engine light came on and i had a scan run on it. It sayin failed EGR position sensor, Open or short circuit condition, failed EGR valve, failed EGR pressure sensor where applicable, failed EGR position sensor where applicable. Can someone please dumb it down for me and help me. Does this mean my EGR valve is bad??

Possibly. Before getting the check engine light, did you notice the engine running rough or stammering at all? The EGR valve is the only part under my hood that has ever failed, well that and a wiper washer fluid pump. I don't think it's an expensive part and probably not difficult to replace but I had mine done for me anyway - that was several years ago.

almost certainly. Its like a 35$ part and 4 bolts to remove it. Order it and replace it, bet the cel goes away. Also code # would be helpful to be certain.

Can't cost much to replace because mine, with labor was like $80. You could reset the code and see if it comes back. Mine did exactly a week later, and that's when I just had it replaced. No issues since.

I also had a code come up, replaced my EGR sensor and no codes since (cheap and easy fix).. on an 07' 1500.
