Front hub assembly on 05 dodge ram 1500 2wd
I did front shocks, brakes abd rotors today and tried to remove the hub assembly to replace it but I couldn't get it off? I took off the 3 bolts that hold it on in the back then I beat on it but it didn't budge... am I missing something or just gotta beat it harder?

Your trying to remove the hub from the spindle correct? If that's correct than yes you have to only remove the 3 bolts on the back side. You are not hitting it hard enough. Get the spindle on blocks of wood so that the hub can fall through and the spindle is supported than use a huge hammer and a wood block to pound it out. Put something underneath so you don't **** up the studs.

bolt the old rotor on the Hub, jam something like a steel bar between the rotor and the Frame. While you are holding the steel bar in place, have an assistant fire up the engine (do NOT step on the brake). And crank the steering wheel as hard as you can against the steel bar and the frame.
As soon as you head a POP, rotate the Rotor 180 degree and do it again for the other side.
you are using the Power Steering assist press off the Hub.

So I stopped in the dodge dealer today and they checked and said there is no recalls on my truck, then they gave me a price to change both hub assembly of $742... LOL. I asked the guy why so much? He said the hubs assembly are $275 each for the part... I told him I can get them for like $75 and he said, well you get what you pay for... Oh really? Is that why my oem bearings failed way before 100k miles?
I will get a big hammer and chisel and do it myself

If you are getting Aftermarket Hub assy, get the Brand TIMKEN, they make the OEM bearing for a lot of car manufacturer.

Well, the OE bearing lasted 100k, but those Autozone bearing will last you 20k miles. Don't ask me how I know, brings back bad memories, and A LOT of them.
