Default UltraType 164 17x9 Fit stock 2wd truck?

Looking at these wheels just to smack on for the summer and run the ate up stock wheels during winter. Will these wheels fit? Tire Rack says they will BUT may require modification of the fender, and I can not find a straight answer anywhere. Its a 04 ram, stock height reg cab 2wd. Just need a simple yes or no, thanks guys! I wont be running super big tires, probably just 265/70s

That's the same specs as my DCIIs, except your backspace is 0.05" less. Originally had 265/70s, now 285/70. I do have a 2 1/2" level.

The rims are about right as far as back spacing and offset. It's the tires than need to fit. A level may be needed, can you crank your torsion bars up if needed? My rims are *******ly the same specs and I am running 305/70R17s on them but I have a leveled 4x4.

I figured id just run some 265s or 275s on them but I dont want them to rub either. I looked at the fitment thread and I am no good at making heads or tails of the math. Lol I figured id just ask outright and see if anyone had a set on and what tires they used.

I think it'll be fine with 265s. It may be OK with something bigger. I did my level kit first, then the wheels with 265s. My 285s went on two years later in '09, so I don't know if the 285s would fit without the level.

Okay, well as long as they should fit. I was looking at those or just stock 20 inch dodge rims, but jeeze they want a fortune for them!

You'll like the 17s over the 20s. The wheels are lighter, reducing the un-sprung weight. Plus, you have some sidewall flex, helping the ride quality.
