Probably a dumb question. I am going to have my trans pan off tomorrow to do a fluid and filter change and want to install a pan plug. Whats the best spot to install a plug in my tranny pan (side or bottom)? Shes an 03, 4.7, 545 RFE, 2WD. Thanks

 

At the lowest point. Probably on the passenger side near the rear. Not that critical - you'll still get some slop when you take the pan down.
