2003 ram 1500 3.7
to anyone who can help.... i am new here....
my son has a 2003 ram 1500 with the 3.7 engine. last week it died on him. he managed to get it started and nursed it to a parking lot. i check the plugs which were worn down. i installed new plugs and was able to get it home. i have been working on it for a few days now. it was showing codes for coils. i have replaced the coils, plugs, t/p sensor. it is now getting a low vacuum. i changed the intake manifold gaskets. i have connected a vacuum test gauge and am getting no more than 6 inHG. it idles really rough but smooths out at higher rpms. when i take my foot off the throttle so it can idle down it takes a while to idle down. from 3500 to 2500 it comes down ok. takes it several seconds to come down to 2000 then it drops to 1000 but slowly. i tried spraying carb/choke cleaner on hoses to find vac leak to no avail. it seems that its getting too much fuel. or more air than it should. what and where else could be leaking vacuum. oh, new pcv as well
please help
thx!!
