New member here just wanted to say allot of good information, you guys rock. I was planning to removing my engine rebuild until I read about the "valve pinging" noise.. And noticed exhaust manifold bolts were broken and RH side was cracked. Still undecided on Shorty headers or replacing 1 manifold. How much HP would I gain with the headers.. Without changing everything? I tow 10,500 and don't like a constant rumble in the cab

 

manifold bolt breakage is common, especially the two rear ones on the passenger side. Shorty's will give decent gains, nothing like LTs will, but noticeable. It would be a good investment in my opinion...

 

Is it common to crack the manifold... Mine cracked in the middle... Up and down the way it is mounted on the truck. Priced the Shortys

 

Not as common, but if it's vibrating like hell because of the broken bolts, I can see it happening...

 

Got everything completed, shorty headers, new Plugs & wires, water pump, change trans fluid, oil change. Now it has the hemi rattle?!?! Wth. I never had that noise before. Guess I will try sea foam. Did anyone here solve the rattling noise? After installing the programmer I loaded the perf 93 I got 14 mpg.. Improvement from my normal 12. Although I got 7 while pulling my camper I normally get 9 or 8.5 mpg.
