Whole System
I know this has been discussed at great length. I'm looking to upgrade my entire system. This means all door speakers, whatever dash speakers, and head unit. I would also like an amp, sub (or two), headrest screens with dvd player and wireless headphones for the kiddos. I have absolutely no idea when it comes to audio so I need lots of help here! I don't even know where to begin. I have read about guys doing custom tweeter mounts, but I don't even know what tweeters do. Oh and while doing all of this I will be replacing the carpet so I'll be laying the dynomat down too.
Go to Crutchfield.com if you want to find out everything that fits and do cursory research. Then call them and they can answer your questions.
-Head Unit (needs to have outputs for the two screens and compatible with multiple bluetooth connections)
-Dash kit (to mold the aftermarket head unit with the factory hole)
-Head unit wiring harness (to connect the head unit with the factory harness no cutting)
-Door components (midrange, tweeter) for front and rear or you can go two-way to make things easier
-Door speaker adapters (so the mid and tweeter will fit into stock hole)
-Door speaker wiring adapters (so you dont have to cut the factory connector)
-Amplifier install kit (wiring, fuses, distribution block) to power the amplifiers
-Speaker wire
-RCA cables (to connect head unit to amplifiers)
-Amplifiers
-Subwoofers
-Subwoofer enclosure
Youre obviously gonna need some custom work to get the screens in the headrests, speaker configuration is up to you but why make life difficult either just use the doors (indirect is good for tweeters) or use the tweeter holes in the dash (they can be harsh in this location). Sub box style is another consideration, easiest being just to buy a box that fits the truck, the stealth under seat ones seems nifty (again go to cruthfield to research styles).
The rest is up to you kemosahbee

I definitely agree with guitman and check out crutchfield. If you have an audiostore near you go their and listen to the different speakers there and find the one you like best. granted buying online can be cheaper but you cant hear how they sound. The one thing i have learned about audio equipement is dont go cheap and stick with the name brands such as polk, jbl, alpine, and infinity to just name a few. they also sell some nice subs that are already built into a box specifically designed for under the back seat. I dont know your experience with installing audio systems so dont be offended but i have always recommended that you go with a minimum of an 8 guage power wire for your amps preferably a 4 guage would be better and a high quality inline fuse and fuse holder. I would love to do what your plans are but my budget wont allow it.
