Question Ram 4.7 Rebuild tips, suggestions, or warnings (HELP)

What started out to be a hopeful head gasket job on my 02 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7 has turned into a full rebuild due to two cracked heads, a block that needed redecked, and the inabilitlity to find a low mileage engine for less then 3,000. Im looking for any helpful tips, suggestions, warnings(horror stories) when it comes to rebuilding my 4.7 as this will be my first complete rebuild ive done (i do have a decent amount of experience with engine work besides). The only thing i am keeping from the original engine is the block, crank, and piston rods. The block is currently at the machine shop and will be bored out .040 over once pistons arrive due to ridges in bottom and top of cylinders. I will be purchasing remand heads and a full overhaul kit for the job. Please if anyone one has any suggestions, tips or any thing i might overlook please post here i greatly appreciate it!!! I will post some pics if anyone wants i have taken tones of picks of the tear down and will as well of the reassemble. Thanks in advance!!

Jason, I just completely rebuilt the 4.7 HO in my Grand Cherokee last year, there is a pretty lengthy thread in our Jeep section. I suggest you go read it for starters...
