On my 07 1500 i bought the truck used and the 7 prong plug was ripped out the back. Not thinking about looking under i just made sure it had the blue trailer brake connector under the dash which it does. Well i just bought an aftermarket 7 and 4 prong hookup for the back. My issue is there is no tie in, no connectors at all just the oem 4 prong zip tied to the hitch. Called the dealership cause they sold it with the trailer package but because its "as is" they wont install anything that needs to be installed without charging $$$$. So does anyone know of a wiring kit for the rear i can buy to install or am i missing something?

 

I had this issue. My truck looked like it had the 7 way round plug ripped out, and a plug up under the dash for the brakes. So I assumed I had the tow package. In reality that plug seems to be some sort of diagnostic port (not the OBD plug), and the factory wiring was indeed simply the 4-flat harness.

All rams have the 4-flat, the tow package bumps that up to the full 7-round

 

What did you end up putting in the back for the 7 round?

It has the plug i putt the brake controller in this morning.

 

Went to Walmart and bought a Hopkins 7-Blade and 4-Flat wiring kit.
