Default Condenser fan typical resistance rating?

Hi all,

I decided to finally take a look at my a/c system to see if there was anything I could do that didn't involve evacing and charging the system. The first thing I noticed was that it looked like the compressor clutch wasn't engaging. I checked the fuse block and sure enough, the 10A fuse for the clutch was blown. I replaced it, fired up the engine and a/c and immediately blew the fuse again.

After reading up on the issue, I've read that a bad condenser fan can cause the compressor clutch fuse to blow... I haven't had a chance yet to locate a wiring diagram to fully comprehend how this could be, but would like to identify as to whether or not the fan is the source of the problem.

The fan kicks in when the a/c is on, and is somewhat loud but not anything that I would consider a problem. Out of curiosity, I checked the resistance of it and found it to be ~1.4 ohms. Is it possible to gauge whether or not this fan is on the way out just by it's resistance reading, or (just occurred to me) checking the amp draw on it while running would be a better indicator of a fan on the way out? If possible to gauge by resistance, what is the typical resistance of a properly functioning condenser fan?

I should have more time this weekend to really dig into it, but am just thinking of things to check and parts I might order before then.

Cheers
