I have a 2002 Ram 1500 quad cab, not the Hemi. I had it in 4L and drove it a small distance. When I tried to put it back in 2WD, the 4WD gear shift now just moves freely. The truck now will not move at all. What is likely the problem?

 

Did you put the transmission into neutral before you tried to shift?

It almost sounds like the t-case is stuck in neutral and the linkages is busted.
