Angry Dodge Ram Truck Death Wobble

I had a 2006 Dodge Ram SLT 3500 4WD short bed with 84k Miles. I traded for a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 4WD DUALLY with 86k Miles Long Bed. I needed the long bed for a Goose Neck. The 1st truck drove fine. The 2006 Dually has what is called the Death Wobble. It scares me to the fact I may end up in a wreck. The vibration/wobble is tremendous. HELP. I read online about owners spending a lot of money to have the dodge dealerships do trail and error or try trial and error themselves. Can anyone tell me where to start. The Truck is Great except I am scared to drive it over 55 mph and friends that have been in the truck and experienced how bad it is will not ride with me. Can anyone tell me where to start? I purchase the truck to haul for work but I am stuck. In fact I worked at the Parts Counter for a Dodge Dealership and saw customers come in complain about it. At that time no one new what to do for it...at least at this dealership. I feel like the dealer was getting lack of support from Dodge.

For many vehicles, its the trac-bar in the front suspension giving out that causes that. That is what I'd look at first.

before you tackle this, replace all non servicable componants, upper and lower ball joints, all drive line u joints with servicable units.

be prepared to replace ro rebuild the entire solid axle steering and drive line componants wirh non mopar parts.

death wobble on dodge trucks is not one specific item, its a collective of miss aligned stearing shafts. worn tie rods, worn out ball joints, bad alignment, worn out tires to out of balanced tires.

I personally have not experienced death wobble, but I did have the right drag link pop off and lost all steering control.

start with the physical link to the frame, ie ball joints and work back to the steering box to the two peice steering half shafts.

dual steering stabilizer will help your new componants last longer, but the unit by it self will not crue death wobble.

A majority of death wobble issues are solved by replacing the factory (usually shot) track bar with either a good stock replacement (MOOG usually) or a high quality aftermarket unit designed to permanently fix any death wobble issues.

Default Steering memory

Have a 2001 Dodge 2500 4x4 Diesel, 167000 miles. Replaced all 4 ball joints and aligned. Now have memory steering both left and right. Have loosened pitman arm and moved tires. Nothing seems bound up. Did not have memory steering before ball joints replaced. Thought ball joints too tight, loosened and re-tightened and did not help.
HELP needed!

You need to start a thread in the 2nd gen Ram section.

It sounds like the steering isn't returning to center. That is a indication of a worn or misadjusted steering gear.
