Default Tranny slow to engage when cold

Guys need some help I have 04 1500 with
56k on it I took it to reputable shop to have
Fluid and filters changed before I went on a
Trip to Carolina. Truck ran perfect before fluid
Change now when it's cold ( first thing in am)
It takes a good 5 seconds for it to drop into drive or
Reverse. Talked to shop and they used aftermarket
Filters and synthetic fluid ? Are these trucks
Picky? I know some vechiles are. The shop
Is getting be mopar ATF 4 after the holiday. Any thoughts?
I scanned it and its showing no codes

Tks

Sounds like low fluid or wrong filter. The flat filter is different between 4x2s and 4x4s.

Check the fluid level and like mike said could be wrong filter or there were some faulty filters at one time also if they flushed it they could've screwed up the check valve in the cooler return line ( I learned not to have it flushes the hard way)

I will mention the check valve to the shop, i didnt ask for a flush but who knows they may have done one ? I also heard there was a bad bunch of filters floating around so they said they will try new one and ATF 4 fluid so hope that works. I'll let u know what I come up with after it goes back in Monday. Tks for the info

Another problem I have heard of is the improper seating of the round filter. May mimic a bad check valve. Have not experienced it, but have been reading about it for years.
