Hey I have posted about my new truck shaking in another post and I have brand new news about the idiots in the Dodge service department.....After three attempts at fixing a vibration problem that shakes the whole truck at 65 miles an hour here is what Dodge did. First they rotated and balanced all 4 of my tires and gave the truck back and said it was fixed. I took it right back the same day with the same problem. The Service manager then test drove with me and told me that the shake was abnormal, but since I only had 500 miles on the truck that Chrysler would not warranty it until the break in period was over, so I should bring it back when it has 1500 miles on it. So I left the dealer ship once again with a still broken truck. The reason I left again is because I wanted that to count as an attempt to fix the truck because after 4 its lemon law in michigan. So after I left I brought the truck back once agian for the third time and told them to fix the problem or give me a new truck, and being sarcastic I told the guy "I sure hope Chrysler dont give you a hard time" he replied "ohh no it should not be a problem at all" keep in mind this is the same guy who told me Chrysler would not touch my truck! Then they keep my truck for 3 days and replace the drive shaft. I pick it up and they tell me that they replaced the drive shaft and the truck still shakes but it is normal. Tony had another Ram on site ready for me to drive that he claimed shaked the same way and he said that is just how the truck drove. Im thinking that if it is normal than why would he replace my drive shaft and in the begining tell me it was abnormal. This guy is a supervisor what an idiot. I did not test drive his truck because that does not fix my problem. Frusterated I left and went to Bell Tire to check my tire warranty. This is where it gets good. Bell tire was taken back at the possibility of a belt shift on a new tire but they examined them anyway. At first they discovered that 3 out of 4 of my tires where counter balanced, which they said was the totaly wrong way to balance a tire. So they rebalanced all 4 tires and zeroed them out. Took it for a test drive with no luck. Then Bell Tires manager took it for a ride, and he said that he was determined to find the problem because he hates dealerships who do this to people. After waiting for 2 hours, he found that all 4 of my 20"rims were bent but the tires where no problems at all. So it cost me 36$ for the new balance. I called the dodge dealership right then and there and told them what Bell Tire had found and I wanted new rims. They proceeded to tell me that the main manager was not in that day but i could leave him a voice mail but they could do nothing until I talked to him. So I left a nasty voicemail then took my truck right down the road to another local dodge service department and told them this story and said I was done dealing with the other dealership. They said that they would have to send my truck to there specialist to make sure the rims where bent by Chrysler manufacture and that I didnt hit a nasty bump or something. So I should hear something this afternoon about what they find now. What a mess, but if they replaced my drive shaft over bent rims I will be going after them. But this is now the 4th or 5th attempt in my book to fix this problem, so the Department of Motor Vehicles and Chrysler Corporate are both getting notified today. That is my story, and hopfully I get a nice running Ram back, because I love my truck!

man that bites. I hope youget your truck back fixed. its good that you love your truck. Cross balance on you tires would be a sign that they found something with the rim and decided to cross balance them instead of spending the time to balance them right. No tire leaves my shop crossed balanced.

Did you take it to Sterling Heights Dodge for the 2nd dealer opinion? I live at 23 and Schoenherr... FYI.
I've had bad experiences with Belle Tire, but if they found the problem, then great for you and them. I've heard SO SO SO many bad stories about Van Dyke Dodge... this is another to add to the many reasons I won't take them there.
I've NEVER heard of having to hit the break in period before they'll do something... I think that's a crock...

well I went to a different dodge dealership after the Bell tire said my rims were bent, and the new dealership sent the truck out to get tested thru whoever they use on whatever machanie they have to check the rims. They said they use this 18,000$ machine that puts pressure on the rotating tire and can give a read out of what is bad and were it is. They came back with 3 out 4 tires are bad and did not pass but all the rims passed the test. HERE WE GO NOW, DOH-CEE-DOHHH NOW!!!!! Dodge called Bell Tire, who they deal with all time the manager said (and knows the guy who looked at my truck) and the finger pointing began. No body wants to warranty the part because if dodge warrantys the rims and they end up being not bad then they will have to eat the price of the good rims they sent back for warranty. And same thing with the tires because goodyear looks at all the warrantied tires and will bill the company for warrantying good tires. The dodge dealership said that they will contact Chrysler and they also have the rep. who makes the rim coming down to take a look. He said he would get to the bottom of this problem and would call me by Friday! So basicaly Dodge knows I have a problem with a brand new truck but wont fix it until they know who is paying the bill. So until then I drive a shaking 36,000$ brand new vehicle and Chrysler does not even seem to mind!
