For towing, not much you can do other than gears or maual tranny to keep your rpms up and reach a lot more power. I've towed a lot more in the past than 4400# with less than a 4.7 and 15-20 years ago, we could only dream of getting 4.7 numbers from a 302/305/318.

I have a 2005 SLT4x4 with the 4.7 and have no problems pulling my 30 foot camper dry weight is 4500 and loaded is about 6000. not sure what gears I have but she pulls just fine.

Yeah but can it pull it at 115 mph and a 80% grade, in the snow, in reverse?

No, but a lightly modded 2nd gen Ram Cummins can.
