Question Headlight issue

If its not one thing its another. When I turn my low beams on only my drivers side lamp works. If I turn on the high beams they are both on ,but dimmer than my low beams. So basically I'm just using my foglights to see. I do alot of driving at night. I've changed the actual bulb and same problem. Fuses and relays are good, as far as I can tell. Maybe its just an electrical problem. IDK.

If it were mine, I would use my volt meter to check voltage and ground in my headlight plugs.

Try unplugging one side, turn on the lights, and see how the one side works. Then do the opposite side. Try to see if just one side is loading it down or not. What you may have is a short for low beam on the passenger side, somewhere in the wiring.

On second thought, that may not work, as I don't think you can unplug them, would have to remove the bulb. And if it is in the wiring, you are still going to have the short present, if there is one. So checking them with a volt meter as Weed stated might be your best option. but you can try the method above just to see what they will do.

See what your low beam voltages are left and right, then hi and low beam voltages with hi beams on. Should give you a clue.
