Default New-B with a few questions

Hello guys, I just purchased my first ram, and have a few questions. Its a 2005 1500 with 4.7 auto and 4x4, also had a lift on it (not sure..4-6") 18" rims and 35x12.50s ..have no clue on gearing

Anybody out there running a similar setup and what is your impressions or opinions on the 4.7?

I'm also trying to find out info on the gearing and tire size issue, this is my first lifted truck and I have no clue how that stuff really works. I'm assuming there is still stock gearing because the gas mileage appears to suck and I would have expected more gitty up when I smash the gas (might be why the gas sucks at this point ) ..and recommendations on gearing sizes?

Any info or insight would be greatly appreciated thanks !

The stock gearing ratio should be listed on the sticker in the glove box. Likely 3.55 or 3.92 but with those big tires and lift, you'd likely be better served with 4.1 at a minimum or 4.56. Either way mileage will never be good with your lift and tires.

Just as I figured..thanks for the heads up on the sticker location I will check into that..everything I've been ready is leaning towards the 4.56s..gotta do front and rear correct?

If you've got a front it needs to be done.
