Default Electrical Issues?

So. My truck has been fine since I got it, just minor things like a alternator and ball joints. This morning when I went to start the truck it acted half way like it was but then nothing, no click, no nothing, then when I opened my door the dome light was blinking on and off and the milage gauge would half way light up then the other half would light up on and off.. Fuses seemed fine.. So I had my step dad jump me.. Took a while before it turned over but it ran okay. Got it to town and on the way there I noticed the lights were stillf lickering but the truck was going and the radio would not work. I got to a gas station and when I let off the gas the truck died again.. So I went ahead and put gas in, and same thing, dome light blinked on and off and all that.. So.. Step dad came out there and jumped me, took a while longer, and once I got my truck running the moment he took the jumper cables off my truck would just die.. Tried it a second time, same result.. So.. We tugged it to the local tire shop/mechanic place for them to look at tomorrow when their open. Does anyone have any idea what this is? I paid attention to the voltage meter on the way to town and it seemed okay but I wasnt looking when I let off of it at the gas station. Im thinking the battery might be totally shot, and or alternator, or battery cables, but it shouldnt be anything any worse, right? Nothing major? Anyhow, if anyone else had a similar situation please chime in! Thanks.

Probably the battery. Have it checked tomorrow. One dead cell can cause massive headaches with these trucks. Some information on your truck would help!!!!

They think it was just the battery. Got a new one in it now and it seems to be back to normal! He tested the alternator and it was fine. So should be all clear! woot!
