Default Front end parts

Took my truck for an alignment today (2002 Ram 1500 5.9 quad cab) was told I need ball joints, tie rod ends steering rack is leaking and a few other ods and ends. Total $1600.00 The truck has 68000 miles is this the normal ware time on these parts? Does that sound like a correct price to repair & replace??

Thanks

Have you adjusted your torsion bars in the past?
Just curious.

68K miles is approaching ball joint and tie rod end territory. It is a bit early though. Do you work your truck, beat on it? Tightened up your torsion bars?

A leaking stearing rack is an odd one though. Never seen that before. I thought they lasted forever.

That price seems high, a job like this is all labor costs though, parts are not too expensive.
