First of all...Happy Holidays to everyone! I happen to be one of the lucky ones (I Think) to
have one of the last 6 spd manuals that is not a "Plane Jane" work truck.
It is a 2008 QC 2WD BigHorn w/0nly 17K miles. Currently, have a CAI and Aero 3030 out the side. More than pleased with current performance compared to my old 98 with the 5.9. It just seems the 4.7 flattens out a bit above 60mph. Would a tuner help or no? Im not sure exactly what to expect as all reviews are for the A/T. I have read of gains between 40-60 hp and similar torque gains, but no examples of where in the RPM range. I would love some more torque pulling my boat up through the gears, as well as some HP between 60-80 mph for effortless passing with out downshifting to 5th or even 4th. Any concerns with the increased HP and TQ with the 6 Speed? Some of the reviews are mixed as to the strength of the Getrag, mentioning it is at max with the stock 4.7. I would really appreciate any thoughts on this.
