I have a 2005 Ram QC 1500 with 900 milles on it. About 100 miles ago I started hearing a noise almost like when a bearing is going on an altenator or water pump and it is coming from the area underneath the engine/transmission area. It is louder, not overwhelming but there you can hear it underneath the truck more then under the hood. Truck runs fine but this noise is bothering. Anyone have a problem or hear of anything. It is schedule for a dealer visit Monday but I Am looking for a heads up I am expecting the patented reply like that the way it is or we do not hear it".
Is it a 4X4? Maybe something in the transfer case? Like yoyo said, maybe heat sheild? Does it get worse with RPM? U-Joint? Just throwing out some ideas.
Just take it back to the dealer and have them take a listen espically if you think it's internal. You're still under warranty. Could be anything.......
