2005 ram 1500 front dif rebuild
Hey guys,
so long story short.
Retainer clip broke off my driver side axle from the inside of the dif and damaged the splines on both inside the dif and on the axle.
Mech also told me he is getting almost half a turn in the drive shaft meaning my gears are worn out correct?
I am buying the 3rdstrikeperformance 4.56 gear kit that comes with the master instal for BOTH front and back dif's. (the kit comes with all the bearings, seals , shims, crush washer even the marking compound to set the gears so no worries on that and I know that I need someone with exp to do these)
Now my Q is...
for the front dif is there anything else I should be changing while im in there?
Anyone have a parts fish or break down of it? the part the axle slides into called a spider gear? anything else I should be looking at for damage inside the dif that doesnt come with the master instal kit for the 4.56 gears.
Any improvements I can do to it? without breaking my bank.
Thanks in advance!

I ordered a new axle and intermediate shaft.
go for a test run make sure that is the problem.. once I know I fixed the problem.. ill buy buying a complete rebuild kit to re do my diff's along with 4.56 gears
I will say.... West coast differentials has been very helpfull with a few questions I had...
Their 4.56 gear kit IS a TOUCH more expensive (by about 50$) (vs 3rdstrike performance) but the quick replies and knowledge of what you are getting is superb from what I have gathered so far. They ALSO offer Live support if you run into any hick ups if you wanted to tackle this yourself if you buy their product. Considering they have a differential shop as well they have the exp.
