I installed KYB GR-2 shocks yesterday on the rear. I put them on the front about a week ago. The truck rides so much better now. I compared the stock shocks with the new ones and you can feel a difference when you push down on them. Twin tube shocks will ride better and give you better handling. Mono shock design will give you mostly better handling. I have had both them and like the Twin tube design better. Also the death dance is gone.

i cranked up my torsion bars last week and the shocks were popping. so i decided to turn them back down to where they were originally, the ride was too stiff for me and i didn't like the shocks popping. so i turned them back down and the right front was still popping. so i thought wtf? i'v only had the truck for two weeks so i really didn't notice the popping before. i figured maybe the right shock was bad so i'll swap sides and see if it still does it. i took out the bottom bolt and there was no pressure on the the bottom bolt. i'm thinking this is bad. so i pull down on the the shock and it comes down about 3/4" of an inch and about 4" up. try the other side, same thing. looks like my shocks were over extended from the factory, that's scary. maybe they cranked the bars too much at the factory, i don't know. any way i got rancho 5000's for the 94-01 trucks. they're supposed to be 2" longer and bolt right in. we'll see. i was going to get the bilstein's but i got 2 rancho's for the price of one bilstein.
