funny hissing noise

Lightbulb funny hissing noise

So I noticed early in the year if I drove the truck thru a puddle it would start making a hissing noise I would spay some belt dressing on it and it would go away yesterday took it thru the car wash and it start making the hissing noise again but this time its not going away but it did got a little better but still hear could it be the clutch for the ac alternator?

could be time for a belt. Pull the belt, spin your pulleys and accessories by hand. That way you can listen for bearing noise.

yeah, I agree. sounds like you need a new Serp belt. They start slipping when the rubber gets dried out and hard, and they def slip when they get wet.

Replaced the serpentine belt and the noise is gone the manual says to change every 15,000 miles it should be longer right? The wife has had the truck 4 years so I bet it was the original belt the truck has 80,,000 miles on it thx for the help you guys

The Engineers if you call them that...who wrote the manual are on crack.
It's a ploy to worry people so that Chrysler can sell more parts and dealers can make more on service.

It's just like Ford tells their owners that the Differential fluids in all their vehicles is goof for 100kmi...rofl. Yeah right, and I'm Eddie Murphy.

Most belts are good for about 3-4yr/50kmi. I will say that my belt only lasted 10kmi/3yrs, just like my battery.
