Default Those damn destructive thieves

This just happened.
My maintenance man is handy. He installed speakers on my other cars.
What is the best way to change out the lock and housing. From the second pic, it is separated from the door.
Thanks so much

I only see one pic, but yeah, looks like they tried to pry behind the handle which generally destroys the door!

I would install Jimmijammers. They are metal plates that go inside the door that stop thieves in their tracks. Looks like a rookie had at your door.
Here's the website link: http://www.jimmijammer.com/index.html
They have punch plugs as well which remove the lock entirely.

I think they give you stickers, make sure they are on your doors.

As for replacing the handle, you'll have to get inside the door panel for that. Removing the panel is very easy. Torx screw for the handle(dont strip it), and #3 phillips in 2 spots I believe. been awhile...

Yep 3 phillips and a torx. But access is very limited. I've been trying to fix my manual locking mechanism for months but I can't get into the door enough to see whats actually detached and how to fix it

Really? I remember the backsides wide open. Well, in comparison to some of the cars I have recently worked on which have absolutely no viewing(Crapillacs and Slaabs) both GM product, go figure..lol

There' 2 rods. 1 goes straight down to the lock actuator and another rod that goes over to the door handle. Those rods are held on by plastic clips. The rod that goes down to the actuator has a plastic clip that just snaps tight over a threaded rod. There's a chance that came unlatched or stripped off.

Yea I can feel and grab the plastic clip but I can't actually see it to know if its broken or just unlatched.

Sorry for the hijack btw Nancy
