Default Need help with tire size

Hey guys I'm in the process of getting some new shoes for the truck before I head back to school and was thinking of moving up a couple of sizes. Currently I'm running 285/70/17 BFG AT tires and would like to move up to 315/70/17 Good year Duratrac tires. I was told by a buddy of mine that I would need to put some spacers so there would be no rubbing, but I need some more feedback before I go spending my money haha. Also I did crank the TB's to level out the truck. Thanks!!

What size wheels? 315s should probably go on 10" wheels to avoid the "donut" look. Spacers are not a good idea as they stress the wheel bearings and other suspension parts.

I just today put on a set of 315 70 17 on today and no rubbing they are real close and I mean real close the wheels came off a stock 05durango steel wheels I took my factory 20's off this spring and opted for the 17's

reason being the factory 20's are street wheels I bet I had those wheels off 20 times this spring digging mud out of the wheels so that they would stay in balance the steel wheels don't attract the mud like the 20;s do

if I had read the sticky before I ordered the tires I probably would not have opted for the 315 but as it turned out I am glad I did they look great and fill the wheel well just right

I think every tire is a little different 34.4 is the max that can be ran without rubbing
