Default Any advice on replacing a front axle seal?

Hi All,

I'm a new member with a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab Hemi.

I recently purchased the vehicle and am now going through the process of replacing all of my fluids. My vehicle does have high mileage - 260K.

I've already changed my oil with Mobil 1 5W-20 Synthetic and Mopar MO-090 oil filter. In addition, I've changed the Air Filter with a FRAM CA9401.

My next step was going to change out the front and rear diff fluid with the proper weight Amsoil synthetic, however I noticed that my driver's side axle seal is leaking from the transfer case.

So I think I will need to fix that first and obviously change out the transfer case fluid.

Since I'm going to have my front end apart is there any thing else I should replace while I'm at it for preventative maintenance? (i.e. passenger side axle seal, etc)

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

If there a any step by step guide that someone could point me to that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Welcome to the site

To be honest, at 260K there are likely a lot of things that need maintenance and changing out due to mileage

Not sure what the seal looks like but it if it like every seal Im changing out in my truck right nor (rebuilding the rear diff) then go to the auto parts store and buy one of these for about $10.

They have them at Harbor Freight also
