My Truck Project
Ever get tired of listening to those guys talk about all the stuff they want to do to their truck, but you never see them do anything? I got tired of that guy being me so I started with my daily driver 2002 4.7 4x4 SLT Sport, a totaled 2007 5.7 2wd ST, and a small craftsman tool set... I parked them nose to nose in my driveway and over the course of acouple of months I swapped the motor, tranny, fuel tank (upgraded to 30 gal), computers, dash, etc. I blacked out the inside of the cab with bodycolor accents (sorry no pics yet) added some wheels and tires, exhaust, e-fan… I kept the old steering wheel (pain in the backside) as homage to the original interior. The body was starting to get some rust spots so I took it to a small town body shop and told them to go to town and get conservatively creative. They fixed the body, gave me a much better blue (with bed stripes, ghosted crosses, hood stripe, etc.) , spay in bedliner. The rocker panels and flares are sprayed with liner. The bodyshop was going to spring for some professional photos for advertising, but that hasn’t happened yet. I was kinda waiting for those before sharing with everybody. Got tired of waiting...
The project is still in progress and I have a number ofthings I still going to do come summer. Heck , let’s face it, if you are like I am you know the project will never be done. There is always something more to do.
Notice the ghosted cross in the center of the grill. The dodge emblem is painted with matching black and silver from the bedstripe. The tail lights and 3rd brake light have body color pigment in the tint. The rim spokes match the cross design. The pics don't do the paint justice.
Anyways, that is the short version of what I have done so far with my truck. Hope you like, but don’t really care if you don’t… J
