Need serious help soon!
Bought my 06 Ram Mega Cab Laramie back in June of this year. Have only driven it for about 2 months out of the 8 I've owned it. So far I have replaced the tranny, pressure sensor, computer, lines for the speed limit sensor. Works anywhere from a day to a week every time something is fixed. Codes:
P0731 - gear ratio code
P0733 - gear ratio code
P0868 - line pressure code
Still popping up. After replacing the computer the line pressure code went away.. drove great for a week and engine light popped on again and only had the gear ratio codes. Replaced the wires for the speed limit sensor and a day later all three came back. Running out of things to replace... NEED HELP! My mechanic has talked to the Dodge dealer in town and other mechanics and we are running out of ideas...
thoughts?????

Is this a Gas or Diesel Truck....? (Helps us ID the transmission)
how about the valve body...?
I've seen the P0733 code come up when there is a problem with the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)... you'll need to check the voltages between idle and WOT... it should show a smooth transition upwards in voltage... and it shouldn't skip numbers or glitch at all... it should be a pretty linear increase. If there is a glitch or jump in voltages that could be your problem...
P0868 is most commonly caused by a bad seal or defective spin on filter in the transmission... so I'd have the mechanic replace it with a Mopar brand name spin on filter and see if that corrects the issue.
I found you a quick troubleshooting guide that you might be able to go through with your Mechanic.... There is also a "quick-learn" procedure that might need to be done....
If your mechanic has a DRB-III scan tool he should be able to read the condition that set each error code and narrow down the problem...

Also, When you replace the transmission you're supposed to do the "quick-learn" procedure so the PCM knows what's going on and so it can communicate with the transmission correctly.
In 2007 there was a PCM software update due to a Technical Service Bulletin, and that might also apply to your 2006... only the dealer will be able to tell for sure... but there might be a firmware issue at play here.
The last thing to try and replace is the PCM all together...again...

awesome info! It is gas...
It does have a new PCM already which we replaced and had programmed and did the quick learn on at the local dealership about a month ago..
After replacing the PCM the line pressure code went away and just had the gear ratio codes... replaced the wires to speed limit sensor and day later all three came back...

After you go through the troubleshooting steps I posted, you might want to get a Dodge Tech in the truck with you with a scan tool and really see what the hell is going on... b/c it sounds almost like the transmission tables in the PCM have been changed or overwritten with incorrect information.
That kind of issue could be caused by a million different things, some are mechanical and some are electrical.... so it's going to take every tool in the dealer's arsenal to figure it out... a local mechanic is going to have a rough time without a DRB-III and StarScan tool to use.

If the front and rear weren't the same when tht put the new tranny in wouldn't I have had problems right off the bat? Instead of.. Fix one thing.. Works for a bit.. Fix something works for a bit..
Ya we've involved the local dealer now who is getting in contact with dodge about the issue and everything we have done up to this point...

Did you go through all the diagnostics in the service manual for the codes?
The service manual shows that they should be able to see what the conditions were when the code was set. Its sounds like an electrical issue.
