5.9 magnum miss fire on cold start for 10-20 secs
02 ram 1500 5.9 magnum original owner 56k. This truck has started miss firing when it has sat over night or longer. If it sit for like 6 hours it will start fine. This probably started happening gradually about 2 years ago. I have put new plugs, wires, cap, rotor and idle air control valve on with no results. The truck had been down on power so ran 2 bottles of techron thru it when the truck had ZERO gas in it. The performance was ALOT better and I thought that it seemed to miss fire just for a sec or two after this but it now seems to be back to the same 10-20 sec miss fire. The performace is still great though. Only codes have been an occasional "multiple cylinder miss fire" or sometimes just a single cylinder miss fire. #1 was the last cylinder miss fire. Do you guys think I should have the injectors professional cleaned? that's the way im leaning. Or do u think it could be a vaccum leak, or maybe a sensor like a inlet air temp telling the computer false readings? Maybe a weak coil? This is driving me nuts and I refuse to take it to the stealership. any ideas?? Thanks! this is my first post in any forum, hope I did this correctly....
