Default 03 4.7 Having a problem with setting the timing

I recently tore down my 4.7 on my 1500, had to replace the left head and put in a new gasket on the right since I was all ready that far. When I put it back together it ran for a minute then quit. I looked thru it and found the problem but the other concern I have is TDC compression or exhaust stroke. Now in the book it says to set the timing on TDC exhaust, and I got to thinking I might have set it on compression. Now with the heads being completely off I'm not sure how I can figure out which one I'm on, can anyone give me any ideas on how to figure this out?

With the head off not much you can do if all your timing marks are lined up when you took it off. two on the cams straight up and the marks lined up one the crankshaft it should ok
