Default trailer wiring

Anyone know what color wire in the rear of the truck is a hotwire? I'm trying to convert from a 4-way factory plug to a 7-way for my truck camper.
Thanks,
Dave

Use the Mopar kit. It is really simple and easy to install. Took me about 1 hour, but most of that was running the power from the battery to the back. I followed the original harness to the front and I was extremely **** about securing it with zip ties. Trust me, it's not going anywhere. I would run a dedicated hot from the battery as the wires just going to the tail lights are not big enough to carry the amount of juice needed so they will burn up in no time (not to mention the fire hazard).

Just get the Mopar kit and you'll be good to go. Just need to solder one connection to the reverse light to kill the brakes on the trailer while backing up.

Thanks for the tip. I figured out that I need a dedicated hot wire from the battery to the rear. When you installed yours did you run it through a solenoid? If not, won't it drain your truck battery because there is a direct line to your trailer battery?

I wired it per the instructions. It is for the 7 pin connection, however, the most I have to hook up to is a 5 flat pin. No I didn't wire through any solenoid.
