This is why I hate dodge...three years ago 110 000 km 2006 Ram 2500. Still own it..

I would say that's pretty good 110k. There are several companies that make up graded front end parts. All manufactures have weak parts in their trucks. Not just Dodge

That is why I went with Moog lifetime warranty parts on my 06. Replaced the entire front end. Drives like a Cadillac now.

Oem dark link,:no cotter pin or lock nut, After market part, cotter pin and lock nut!!!
No issues now, but 3rd grand to re do every think from bearings to ball joints and u joints, Dodge Dealers quote was twice this amount for half the parts and a quarter of the labour.

love the hemi 6sp manual .but too jaded to new and replace all HD Ram components all over again!!

The key is NOT paying for labor. I just did both CVs, both control arms and both lower ball joints. Not because the parts failed but because ALL the rubber fell apart allowing sand and grime in. Total cost - $273.00 and now all my ball joints and tie rods are GREASABLE...
