exhaust sizes and whatnot.
Hey guys, quick question that I couldn't find the answer to through the search function. I'm gonna be installing a glass-pack in place if the original muffler for the time being until I get my dual setup. What size inlet and outlet should I get to fit the pipes on the truck? Also how long of a shell on the glass-packs did you guys use for best performance and best fit? etc. Thanks!
Bonus question... What glass-pack will at least sound a little smoother than cherry bombs? I know cherry bombs have a really rude sound, I want something with a lower tone without all the sputtering and loudness to it. What would you guys recommend?

Depends on what you're wanting. I've heard a few options around me, and what I feel fits my needs and am going to do in the next week, is leave stock muffler but straight pipe the 2 resonators. It should give me a deep throaty sound when kicked down pretty good, but keep pretty mild when I am easy on the throttle so as to not wake neighbors at girlfriends condo, or not attract the fuzz when I am out sipping on adult beverages.
IMO, glass packs sound like crap to begin with and are horrible on these trucks. I'd spend slightly more, and go to your local auto parts store and get a Thrush welded chambered muffler, and really they are only a few dollars more and will give you the muscle car rumble that most are looking for. But honestly, straight piping these trucks sounds pretty good compared to many other vehicles straight piped. Straight pipe the first resonator then sample the sound, if you want louder, straight pipe the rear resonator and sample again...if you still want more, straight pipe the muffler...not good enough yet, then go with the Thrush. Planning a CAI in the future? Do that first, cuz hearing the air sucking in is a large improvement already, atleast from inside the cab. Go to a local muffler shop and see if they will sell you a full length (like 7 ft) of 3 inch (which is your in/out for the muffler) pipe to do your straight piping. That's what I did and it was cheaper than getting a few 18 inch pieces from the auto parts store.
