www.4wheelparts.com they are usually a good source to find what you want, then just google the part number you find to find a much better price. I agree with the Rancho being amongst the best, and being pricey...what I don't like about them, are if the kit includes shocks (usually do) their shocks SUCK, unless they are for strictly an off road vehicle, if you do much driving on the road, you will want anything besides Rancho...I can't remember the specifics anymore, but something to do with their valving, they tend to be a very rough on road ride.

Agreed about the shocks not being great for on-road but it sounds like this is his "emergency/off-road toy" so he might be okay with spending the extra $...

I heard rancho is made by Midas. Midas makes a lot of different shock for companies. I heard bilenstein is way better. No? Also I'm not looking for a lift kit. Just a heavy duty suspension. Now if it lifts it along the way. That's ok by me

I think you mean Monroe...Midas is a national auto repair franchise, and yes, I believe Rancho is at least owned by Monroe...Monroe is a very good shock for ride comfort, but for a truck, or a little rough terrain, they wear out super fast...I think these trucks have Monroe on them from the factory, I just put Bilstein all the way around on my truck, and LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!!! If you search this forum, you will find they are a very popular replacement on our trucks. You can look for like a 3" lift kit with springs without shocks, and order Bilstein shocks for it...I think the heavier factory springs will end up lifting it a little anyway, so you really won't be much different from a small lift, and aftermarket is usually better than something made for factory, built by the cheapest bidder...I think you will be about the same amount of money, but much happier with a small lift kit, especially if you are driving the truck on the road to get to the play area.

Yeah I meant Monroe, lol. That's good to hear bilstein are good. That sounds like good advise.
I see a lot of people talking about a death wobble in our truck. I only have 54k on my megacab. It's a 2006 - mint. Anyways I had some vibration I was noticing. I went to dodge and ordered a new main bearing just put it on a couple days ago. Man! Like new again SO smooth now. I'm very happy highly recommend

I have a Mega as well, never had the death wobble but I do have some vibration in my steering. What main bearing did you replace, how much was it and how long does it take to put in? Any info would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I also replaced my shocks with Bilstein's when I put on my leveling kit and they are awesome, had them to 3 years now.

My vibration was through the entire truck like it was coming from my drive shaft. So I went to dodge and ordered the center main drive shaft bearing. The part was like 240 dollars maybe a little less. You take 4 bolts off the rear drive shaft next to your differential. Take two bolts out to drop the main bearing and the rear portion of the shaft comes out. The hardest part is getting the old bearing out I sprayed it really good with pb blaster then torched it really hot and pounded it off. Putting the new one in place was easy. Reinstalling it was easy too. Here is the important part, once you have the shaft in place and all the bolts in. Don't fully tighten any of them down! Let the drive shaft relax in its normally position. Then tighten them all little by little like you do your truck tire.

Vibration coming through your steering wheel could be broken belts in your tire/s or warped rotors or both.?

yup I work in the factory that builds them. we don't supply the ones that go on the ram trucks though, mainly the cars I think.
