Default Differental Upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade the diffs on my 2005 ram1500 quad cab. I know I have 3.73 gears. Anyone know any cheap locker sets for these? I'm not even sure what the axles are. I think the rear is the Chrysler 9.25? front I have no clue.

search for 4.56 gears or 4.10 gears on the site, you will find lots of info. Auburn is a popular choice. Truetrac is another one. Not going to be cheap though, more than 1,000 installed easy. Closer to 1500.

if you e-mail Dodge with your vin number.. they will in a couple of days give you a complete break down of everything ordered on your truck...

engine, transmission, Drives, color, etc.
that is how I found I had a 9.25 with 3.55 gears. limited slip.

yeah I know the rear is 3.73 9.25. I have no clue what that cv axle front diff is. That is the one I want the locker in. How much was that auburn?

another question..... Did they change lug size around 2k? I am looking for another set of 17s so I have off road and street tires (gas mileage is killing me) but I think the set I found are 2nd gen and wont fit.

I have a brand new set of 4.10s (rear only) sitting here n the box I will sell.

As for the differential itself, I have Auburn and some 456s

No 3.73s in the 1500s - those were used in the larger models (2500, etc.). You probably have 3.55s or 3.92s. What you upgrade to will depend on your goal.

True.

Usually if the truck came with 175 then you have 355s and if it came with 20s then you likely have 392s

But a build sheet tells all. You can also look on the sticker inside the glovebox

ok. regardless of the gears, I still dont know what the front axle is. is it a dana 44? idk. I guess build sheet. I would think all 1500 in that year range were the same other then ratio.
