Default front shock recomendations and steering boots

What front shocks would anyone recommend for my 06 ram 1500 4x4? Mostly for on road driving.
Also I am wondering if there is anywhere to buy the rubber boots (bellows) for the end of the rack and pinion steering. Not available from dealer!

I have Rancho shocks on mine. I'm pretty sure we probably have a shock thread in our FAQ section though. Not certain but likely.

Good question on the boots. Check the link in my signature for the parts manuals and see if something is on there. Also check RockAuto

On my 03 I've had several sets over the years.
The stockers.....well you know about thoses lol.
Rancho 5000. Very good and lasted over 7 years.
Bilstein HD 4600. Very good shock but you REALLY know your driving a truck. Super stiff and hardly any body roll around corners.
I had to change mine out, as the ones I had fitted, were unsuitable for a torsion bar crank and the extra height it gave. Front shocks were bottoming.
I now run ProComp ES9000s. Very good shock. Smooth and not as stiff as the Bilsteins, but real nice.
Nice performance upgrade.
Al.
