transfer case neutral

Default transfer case neutral

helped my son change the rear axle oil seal yesterday. my question is how do you get "neutral on the selector switch" thanks in advance

You should just have a little button at the bottom left corner of the switch. You'll need a pen or something to press the button, but you need to shift the transmission into neutral, then press and hold the button on the switch and when it shifts, the N should illuminate to indicate that the transfer case has properly shifted into neutral as well. But of course, you could always just read the manual.

well thanks for the response. we tried that to no avail. thought there may be a trick to it. also my son bought it used and didnt come with a manual. otherwise i would have read it and skipped the post. ***

There's no reason other than it being broken for it to not shift into neutral. It's the same process for switching into 4lo, except you're using the neutral button instead.
