I have a 2002 1500 ram got it without a remote door lock on my key ,how can I get one? does the truck need anything special or can I program a key remote to it without anything?

 

It depends does your truck have the remote keyless entry If it does without a working FOB I think it will have to be done at a dealer if the truck has it

 

You need to find out if the truck is equipped with remote door locks first.

 

go to this link and over on left your vehicle equipment listing enter your vin # this is a dodge build sheet it will tell you if it has keyless entry under standard Equipment my sheet does cause I have it if not yours wont show keyless entry http://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/...527R%2527%2529

 

I know if you have manual locks you'd have to swap it all. That's whats holding me back too (Manual windows and locks. yay...)

 

it says power locks on equipment list, does that work or does it need to say keyless ?

 

Do you have key lock cylinders on both doors or just the driver's door? This is usually an indicator if it was built with it or not.

 

I might be able to tell by VIN if you'd like to send it this way.

My build sheet says Remote keyless entry on the standard Equipment listing if it has it yours should too If it has it it will say it 5 or 7 up on first page this is my first page

Was following this thread - so, mine has key lock on only the driver's door.
Does this mean it is capable of remote keyless , or would I need a complete swap ?
