Default 2006 2500 mega cab 4x4 Laramie A/C problem no control of vents or hot/cold

Hi long time user first time to ask. I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab 4x4. 3 days ago I lost all control of the vents for the A/C. It only blows through the front vents and will not change to defrost or floor at all. I also lost all ability to change the temperature setting from hot to cold. I know Dodge has a huge issue with their blend doors(should be a recall) but would this issue be a blend door problem? To loose both at the same time is unusual and I am suspecting the control module(inside of truck main control) instead of the blend doors. When I turn it to defrost it does cause the A/C to kick on so it is recognizing that it's been put in defrost mode when the temp is set on cold ( without the A/C button being on). Also A/C button does activate when using the front vents so some of controls do function. Would this be the control module or does one of the blend doors work both these functions? Please help don't wanna spend $1000's on replacing all of it if it's just the controller. It does have dual climate and neither side works/ changes temperature.

With the engine off and the Key in the run position, try messing with the *****. Can you hear the motors at least trying to turn the doors? If you can't hear anything turning, then you either have bad actuators or something electrical. If you can hear them turn, how long do they make noise before stopping? If you adjust from vent to feet, you should hear one or two motors turning, and from feet to defrost just one motor turning. It should not take more than a second or three. If you hear the motors spinning for several seconds, you probably have broken doors. You can repeat this to be sure by making small adjustments (like moving just one notch from feet to defrost), and it will make noise for the same amount of time before giving up.

BUGSSY,
Thank you for your quick response. I do not hear any noise when I do as you suggested. Does the same actuator control both the temperature for both sides and the vent positions? Where would I find a schematic showing the what actuator work what function. Do you think the A/C heater control switch could be the problem? There is a pic attached of the unit I am referring too. Thanks again!!

I don't really know for sure, but I suppose the dual climate control would have to have two separate actuators. If you do not hear *anything* when you move the position **** or the temperature setting, I would have to suspect something more electrical. I don't think that there is a specific fuse for just part of the climate control, but it wouldn't hurt to look at the fuse box and see what's there.

If they all stopped working at the same time, my first guess would be to take out the climate control unit and see if it can be pulled apart. Maybe you can see something visually obvious. I don't have a schematic or anything that would help, but you can also try to back probe the connector to see if you can find out if it have power going in and out.

You can also check the wiring harness. I can't be too specific, but on the passenger side floor, under some trip/carpet/dash there is a large grey connector. It's possible that it's disconnected or wet. A leaking door seal can get water down in there. This is the only picture I could really find, so I hope it helps.
