DAMN NOISE!!!
My truck will randomly do the chime for the check gauges, sometimes for just 20 seconds sometimes for 20 minutes. DRIVES ME NUTS! I did the flash and no codes spit out. Any thoughts before I go to the stealership?
Could it be your "light out" chime? Quite a few have had problems with the rear tail light bulbs. Light appeared good, but they got rid of the chime when they changes them. I think there is a light on the instrument panel as well.
Try holding in the trip/odometer button on the instrument panel and turning the key to the on position. This will do a diagnostic of just the lights on the panel (unless this is the flash you are talking about). Maybe you have one out?
it sounds like a short though, bc ive had the light out chime and that will jsut do the noise at start up. but this will randomly happen as im driving along. some days it wont do it at all somedays it will do it the entire time im driving.
ross944,
I was researching this same problem on the Internet when I came upon the Dodge forum website and your posting.
Have you had any luck in determining why the chiming? I have a 2003, 2500 QC, 4x4. I've noticed this chiming once or twice a blue moon in the past year, but more recently it will start and has lasted for 5 to 10 minutes and then quits. No dash lights come on and no adverse signs with the gauges? I've got a call into a friend of mine that is a service manager at a local dealership to see if he has heard of this. If I hear something I'll drop a note.

If the problem is intermittant, you can forget about the dealer finding it unless they have just received something about the problem from the factory. Even then...
Take it in when it is doing it, or you're probably SOL. Even doing it, they may or may not have a clue. Hopefully, they can hook up with someone at Dodge who can help. Or, they typically simply start changing parts.
All the best.
About forgot, I've seen fuses that look perfectly good do some weird crap, changed them and no problemo. Who knows, it's worth a shot, as with changing bulbs. Try the easy stuff first.
