Default My V10 auto is starting to slip and I want a manual 6 speed

My V10 has an automatic transmission and like the title says, it's starting to slip. But that's not all of it. My V10 makes the most torque in the lower RPM ranges where mine wants to stay too high, especially when towing. I love manuals, but I want one that doesn't shift like our 93 Ford 600 dump truck, which my NV4500 in my other truck reminds me of. The G56 sounds like the sportier version over the NV5600, what is your opinion?

Bump.... I loved my NV3500 but kept breaking it. My NV4500 is much stronger but shifts slowly. I have read that the G56 shifts much more smoothly but when it breaks, it really breaks. Any thoughts?

the g56 would be the way to go for that feel, i love mine way more than the nv5600, though they didnt make them till the 06, im sure it will bolt right up, a cummins trans has the same bellhousing/boltpattern i have put mine through he11 and never hurt it, just get rid of the atf fluid for something better

Thank you! This is what I wanted to know. I know that the V10, 5.9 and 6.7 Cummins all have the same bolt pattern. My biggest question right now is the pilot bearing. I'm trying to find a donor truck for all the pieces; if I recall correctly, they shuffled a few into the 2006 year, then used the G56 exclusively forward, right?

That sounds correct, and not sure if there was a difference in the pilot bearings but if memory serves right, they are interchangeable in the v10 flywheel

Cool. Does anyone have real world experience with both the NV5600 and the G56? In addition, my latest research reveals there is some kinda difference in early and latter G56 models. Care to chime in?

As in my Sig, I own a nv4500, nv5600, and g56 trucks, the g56 is by far my favorite, once I switched the fluid out for the john Deere hy-guard hydraulic fluid it is awesome! And you dont have to run the synco-mesh like the nv5600, for the 45 I really don't care for the 3-4 shift, its huge but the trans is strong
