Default RE: New Tires

I just got my 285/70/R17 BFG A/T installed yesterday and so far so good The ABS light has not come on as of yet. Rides good and no more noise then my 245's
and the dealer said I could of gone up in size. Have not checked my speed yet to see if it has changed maybe this weekend. For now everything is great and now it looks like a truck should. Now I'm looking for something else to spend my money on!! maybe CAI or some side steps since I just gained 1.25"......LOL

Hey all, I have been looking for bigger tires for my 2003 Ram 1500. I want to get something bigger as well without doing any mods. Im hoping it will make the truck look mean as I like the look of the bigger tires. Keep us posted on those tires!

Hey all, I'm new here too, I will probably be spending a lot of time here since I have a lot of work I want to get done on my truck...
I own a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 QC 4x4 Off-Road, and I'm looking at new tires and rims...I have 265/70R/17's on mine, and I want to go up to 285's with a 20 inch rim...is that possible to do without a body/suspension lift? My Dad told me he saw a guy with hummer tires on his Ram, and all they had to do was put a spacer in his front coil spring. Any ideas?

Also, if anyone can find me a chrome bar...I've been looking all over for a "roll-bar" type bar without the extending arms going into the bed, so I can put some 6x9 KC lights along the top. Any websites I'm missing?? Any that deliver to APO addresses? Gotta love life in the military...

I also have a 2001 1500 sport... Was curious of the same question. There's a small lift on my truck, but just stock, how big would I be able to go without any rubbing? As big as the guy with the 05 hemi? (stock rims)

What did you pay for them?
My local dealer thinks they're worth $215 each. Seems a little high.

Well, I finally decided on the Toyo A/T 285/70-17s.
I'll take pictures as soon as we get some decent daylight.

I went with the Toyos because they are rated superior for wet and snow. Better than BFGs or Bridgestone Revos.

After two days I've noticed they are definitely heavier than the 245s (duh!) but handle very well. Just don't over inflate them. They bounce like basketballs if you get too much air in them.

The noise is also more than the stock tires but definitely not loud enough to be a problem. On smooth pavement they're quieter than the wind noise at all speeds (up to 90 at least).

They look good too!
