2006 Hemi 1500/2500 (Mega Cab) Weak HP in Lower RPMs
I have a 2006 Hemi Mega Cab 1500/2500, to me it
feels like its not making the power that it should be.
I had an 04 Quad Cab with a Hemi and Higher Miles that
would haul *** at any RPM. My 04 QCSB was 3.92s and
lighter then my MC with 3.73. My 06 MC Feels like a V6.
Once my Mega Cab gets to 4500 rpm it Runs/Revs like
I think it should. New plugs are about 1500 miles old..
Both Trucks had Bigger Intakes, and AfterMarket Mufflers.
Thanx,
Rob

Lot heavier truck and a step backward on the gearing combined with an engine that doesn't really start to make it's power until about 2200 rpms. Great gearing for the open road but its gunna lug around town.
Two good solutions but neither one cheap. Regear to at least 4.10s or even better 4.56s if you don't mind losing a mpg or two over 70 mph and re-cam to a cam that makes power lower in the rpm band. You'll lose a tad of top end, but who revs a truck over 6000 rpm anyway???
When Marty had KRC Performance he had a great cam for low end, it was a Crane that he had them machine -4 degrees. It produced so much low end torque you'd swear you were driving a diesel. Only down side is you needed either a custom tune or at least a piggyback A/F tuner to make it happy. Topped out at 5800 rpm but it was a low end beast!!! There are cams out there that will help low end a good bit that don'tneed custom tuning...
