can anyone out there tell me if a mid ninties auto trans from a 318 or 360 will bolt up to a 2004 5.7 hemi?? Im trying to install a hemi into a 34 ply coupe but do not want all the elctronics in my tranmission so Im wondering if a 360 tranny from the mid ninties will bolt on and work?? Im at your knowlegeable mercy guys.........

 

You'd have to find out the bolt patterns on the bell housing of the transmission you want to use and the bolt pattern of the 5-45RFE transmission.

 

You might try contacting Trans-adapt. They're one of the oldest tranny to engine adapter building companies out there

Anyway, as I recall, Dodge has an install manual for the recently released 5.7 hemi crate-engines, one of which is not electronically controlled, that might be of help, if you can find the part# or have a genuinely helpful dealer with whom to work.

If you are asking about having the automatic transmission from the 360, from the 90s being used, then I say you would be better off with the 545RFE over the 46RH because it has an extra overdrive gear ratio. So far, the 545RFE seems to have a good reputation. If I was going to use any transmission from the 90s, I would use the NV4500 transmission that they supposively used in the 2500/3500 versions of the HEMI. Good luck!
