Default Heater core questions.

I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 and am planning to replace the heater core next week. From what I have read a lot of people prefer not to do the job themselves. Is it really that difficult of a job to do?

I've watched a few videos and read up on it in various places but there is some conflicting information I am seeing.

Is it necessary to have the AC system evacuated? Some say it is and others say just to remove the clips to give enough room to slide the lines through the firewall which gives you enough room to pull the core.

Is there a step by step instructional listing all the details on how to properly remove the dash and all of the harnesses and how to disable the airbags?

Thanks in advance!

Chris.

I believe that there is a tutorial with pictures on this forum for exactly what you propose to do.
Do a search on here.

There absolutely is! These two links will give you all the information you need to complete the job.

Used TinyURL for the first one because this forum hates that one.
