Just got a (new to me) 08 dodge ram 1500 4 door SLT and i drove it home and over the past couple of days its started skipping, jumps out of over drive, and wont go into cruise. is their a fuse to check the cruise or does this sound like i need a new sensor? the dearlership we bought it from was pressure washing under the hood and i was told it couldve messed with a sensor. any help guys? so what about the skipping? is this the over drive jumping in and out?

I am stealing this from my own post a month or so ago.
Governor solenoids are the most common part that fails with these 42/44/46/47/48re transmissions. Replace the solenoid along with the sensor if found faulty. They are easy to replace you just have to pull the pan off to replace.
Another thing it could be is a sticking valve in the valve body and the only way to repair it is to replace the valve body or have it rebuilt by a professional.
