Alternator 160amp or 136amp
Have been having an issue with my trucks battery being dead so replaced that but didn't work so went to the auto store to get a new alternator and they have 2 options 160amp or 136amp.
The 160 is in stock but need to order 136 and guy told me you can't put the bigger one in.
I don't want to pull the one to see what size it is then reinstall it if not needed
Is there a difference of can I just put the bigger one in. Only a $15 difference but would save some headache plus I'd rather have it if I can

You can put the larger amp alt in without issue as long as they are physically the same.
When my 136A died I put in a 160A. Lots of guys have.
If you want, go to www.advanceautoparts.com, add the 160A to your shopping cart, use code TRT30 at checkout for 30% off, pay for it online and pick it up in the store. That should help save you some money.
