Activating fog lights without dealer help...Anyone know a way?
I am planning on installing Mopar fog lights in my 2006 Ram 1500....I know that they need to be activated in the PCM to work, but has anyone found a way to do so without paying the dealer $110 (oh yea) to have the dealer program them to come on?
I'm trying to stay OEM as far as the switch and indicator light goes....
Would disconnecting the battery and letting the PCM reset do anything?
Any other thoughts (besides going aftermarket)?

here is your other option.... Purchase one of these:

or you can purchase a StarScan Tool for $1,500 - $2,500

I like the looks of the AutoEnginuity stuff, but I'm an amateur and this is probably the last upgrade I'm gonna be doing on this truck to get it up to where I want it to be...I'll probably just give them the $110 for now..
Although I always wanted a scan tool....and this one can do settings if you shell out for the addons....
great....now I'm conflicted.....

I just meant OBD II scan tool...not StarScam...no way I'd pay for it, and from what I read, you need some sort of dealer code to change settings of any kind....
but still twitching in the AutoEnginuity tool....

Changed the country code in the front control module to Canada, I'm assuming? Sometimes that will enable the DRLs, BUT on some it's permanent DRLs even if it gets changed back to USA.
